New Zealanders get upset if you point out that its politics are 'slow', usually expressed as "like England 30 years ago", but how do you explain this any other way:

I've got a hankering for the 1970s/1980s Milton Bradley game Downfall, but it looks like they've stopped making it for the NZ market because it uses too much expensive plastic

Is there a similar game / product that can function as an alternative?

Tips for keeping your NZ power bill down this year:

1. Spend more time at work, doing unpaid labour for your boss to keep warm

2. Spend less time at home, this also reduces the wear and tear on your landlord's property

3. Eat raw chicken, saving the electricity required to cook

4. No more joy

Reading this article about Jony Ives and OpenAI launching a secret but definitely world-changing product, I was reminded of the South Seas Bubble we learned about in history, especially the phrase "a company for carrying out an undertaking of great advantage, but nobody to know what it is"

I'm a volunteer firefighter, the smartest oven I need is one that will turn itself off if I run out the door for a call so my roast doesn't become the next fire.

It's also the cheapest oven in the shop.

Lol, no I'm not spooked, I sold all my US shares slowly over the last two months, because Trump fucking the global economy was entirely predictable

Proud to say my remaining two US investments are to short the NASDAQ100 and also specifically Tesla, both of which bets have made money already

I just dropped by the station to check our local truck, never noticed this before, and assuming there would have been several meetings to decide on the graphic design...

Imagine running a car rental company, but you ask government to legalise stealing cars or it won't work

@edzitron.com Today I got so fed up with the rot in Google Maps app, I downloaded the Open Street Maps app, which isn't stuffed with ads, leaves space for maps, and shows footpaths, not just roads.
