Dungeons of Hinterberg from @microbirdgames.bsky.social was a real surprise. It flew under my radar last year but I'm happy I finally got around to it. A 'cosy' vacation-themed dungeon crawler with a bit of a bite and some real things on its mind. HIGHLY recommend checking this out.

Dispatch from @adhocstudio.com was excellent. Phenomenally well-written superhero workplace sitcom with some of the best character drama I've seen this year. Kinda wish the strategic layer was more fleshed out, but LOVED how it interlocked with the world building and storytelling.

Ambrosia Sky is a super late-in-the-year GOTY contender from @softrains.bsky.social. A visually stunning, emotionally devastating immersive sim about dying alone in space, and the oft unmentioned mind-numbing bureaucracy that marks the end of a life.

Every once in a while, a game comes out that feels like its developers wormed their way into my head and studied all my hopes, dreams, and fears to make a game that *specifically* for me.

That's what #BountyStar felt like. I absolutely adored this!

Yup. It's an Annapurna-ass game. Lots of beautiful prose about trauma and who will you be after you decide to heal, etc. but also mech battles.

like I'm really enjoy Bounty Star right now and not only is my review of it late, it has also pushed other releases down the backlog because I'd rather just really get on with this game now.

I'm just saying it for your own peace of mind lol. I used to play everything that comes out for review, and then I just stopped because if I'm vibing with something then other games can wait

you know you can just... not play other stuff if you're really enjoying this one right?

If you were let down by the lack of variance and reactivity in Avowed earlier this year, then #TheOuterWorlds2 is the game for you.

It offers immense freedom in build and approach, and rewards that freedom with often hilarious consequences.
