NP. Urgent care and family medicine. Beagle mom. All things horror books. Healthcare is a human right and abortion is healthcare. I want to get lost in nature to find myself.
August wrap up a day late: 36/52 books read for the year, 4 books in August. 2 of those were the 2nd &3rd in the Wayward Pines trilogy, which was a surprise recent favorite that I’m now a little obsessed with. Similar recs appreciated! #horrorlit #booksky 📚🩸📚💙

So excited for the US release of the first book of How to Survive Camping. I’ve been following the author since these stories were first posted on Reddit years ago. Highly recommend everyone preorder, it releases in just a couple days. #horrorlit 🩸📚💙📚

Read 5 books in July for a total of 32/52 for the year. Senseless by Malfi and Red Rabbit were clear favorites. Something in the Walls was unfortunately pretty disappointing due to predictability. Currently working on the Pines trilogy. #horrorlit 🩸📚💙📚

Update on slump.
Devoured Senseless by Ronald Malfi over the past few days. Finished it earlier today and my first thought was WTF. My favorite books are the ones that live rent free in my head afterwards. Read most of his work and this was by far my favorite. #horrorlit 📚🩸 💙📚

Super late this month, but I read 5 books in June. 27/52 for the year. Feeling like I’m in a bit of a reading slump and need an addictive read. Any suggestions? 🩸📚 📚💙 #booksky #horror

May reading stats: 3 full books (& 2 more I am halfway through) for a total of 22/52 books this year. Fav was Chuck Wendig’s The Staircase in the Woods, a surprisingly deep look at lifelong friendships and the challenges of maintaining those as an adult. 💙📚🩸📚❤️📚 #horrorbooks #horrorlit #booksky

🧪Sunday was Mother’s Day. No religious text can ever justify any law that results in the death of women by denying them medical care. Strict anti-abortion laws are a manifestation of misplaced morality. Jesus has nothing to do with it.

Infant mortality is increased in states w/abortion bans.

Figured I’d hop on here today for the 15th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act.

With everything going on right now, it’s easy to feel like regular folks can’t make a difference – but the ACA is a reminder that change is possible when we fight for progress.

12/52 books read for the year. I only managed 5 in February, which is still a little better than my one a week average. I will say Ararat pleasantly surprised me with that ending. I’m looking forward to continuing the Gravekeeper series for a dose of some cozy horror. #booksky 🩸📚 📚💙

#Fridayreads Started Ararat by Christopher Golden yesterday. I’ve read a few of his other books and haven’t been blown away, so hoping this one surprises me. 🩸📚 💙📚 #horrorbooks

Just finished The Whispering Dead by Darcy Coates. I would definitely consider her books more cozy horror than anything else. I tend to pick up one of her books when I need a break from the bleaker stuff. I really enjoyed her Black Winter series, hoping this series is enjoyable too. 🩸📚 💙

RFK Jr. and his family stand to profit off lawsuits against vaccines. An HHS Secretary shouldn't have a financial interest in making our country sicker. I’m demanding RFK Jr. recuse himself from any work on vaccine policy while he has a financial interest in the outcome.

A day late but happy 3rd birthday to my best friend.

7/52 books read for the month of January. My favorite by far was the new Grady Hendrix. I also enjoyed Ramsey Campbell’s Midnight Sun for its slow burn. Darcy Coates was good cozy horror.
Starting The Book of the Unnamed Midwife today. 🩸📚 #booksky

Idgaf I’m still fighting for guaranteed healthcare.

Aspiration is the answer. Not just “we’re not the bad guys.”

We need something more meaningful than that. I want a future worth fighting for. They have no vision. We do. Lean into our strengths and knock them out. 👊🏽

As always, Grady Hendrix delivers.
“You can’t beg the world to do what you want. You can’t ask it nicely. You must force the world. You must bend it to your will.”
His message hits harder right now. 5/5 stars.
