Just a husband, father and U.S. Navy veteran in wine country trying to navigate through life...
In this batch about a solid tbls each. I literally cook by eye.

So 3 cams (half of the liquid from 1 can into the food processor). Then the rest of the other ingredients. From there it’s a taste & texture process till it’s where you want it. Sorry I didn’t have something more precise.

Just fascinating to me. Especially the different variants.

Makes total sense! Politics aside, I considered it a horrible place when I was there for boot and nav school in ‘91. I couldn’t wait to get away. No active bases by that point here in the Bay Area, but San Diego was great. At least I was west coast.

Totally get it. I wasn’t in tears but I sure was depressed leaving here after a week at home and flying back to Orlando for Navy navigation school.

Yep, despite all of our issues, it’s still an amazing place to live.

That was a fun 24 hours!

Thanks! Over the years I’ve converted many people who have told me they don’t like hummus. When they tell me they’ve only tried store bought stuff, I simply say try this. Game changer.

That’s one thing I’m thankful for. My wife likes to dress nice for certain occasions but isn’t that picky the rest of the time. And our daughter started doing her own laundry when she was like 10, bedding included

Yeah, despite our differences we are all very similar. In most cases.

So much easier if you’re the cook. Once in a while my wife will stop by the store, but first the most part I do all of the shopping

Yeah, that was in the series. Folks lining up around 4/5 AM. But the owner was out there handing out a variety of hot & cold drinks, plus a raffle for free food or front of the line. Looked like a great experience. Plus Tootsie comes out later to chat, take pictures.

Yes! Great dressing really brings it all together.

I may have already asked you this, but have you gone yet to Snow’s BBQ in Lexington? We loved the Netflix series Chef’s Table: BBQ, but Tootsie doing BBQ every Saturday at Snow’s was pretty damn special to us.

Looks phenomenal! When I mention beets to most folks they say they hate them. 💯 of the time it’s because their only experience is canned beets, which are nasty. Then I have them try some homemade roasted beets with herbs & spices. Game changer.

This is a Lodge pan. They do good work.

Some rain up here. Not too bad. Our visit was great. Explored new places to eat, took her shopping. Even got to watch her college hoops (men) play a game against a school from WA. I’m picking her up a week from next Tuesday for turkey day break

I’m just glad my brother is done with that world. The movies make it look so amazing. Truth is very different.

All the coffee you want since I don’t drink coffee 😂

There’s a family owned chain of stores in our county that are like the Mecca of grocery stores. It’s the kind of store where you go where you can’t find that one ingredient for your dish. These are from their bakery

Thank you!
