Staying with family out of town. They’re all out shopping, so I went rummaging for food. My aunt’s homemade biscuits toasted with some of yesterday’s dark turkey meat, Colby Jack, eggs and salsa verde. Tasty!

5 years ago today. Long smoke for that turkey & ham. I decided for better results I should cut the turkey in half. Absolutely amazing results.

8 years ago today. My first follow up after my knee replacement. Despite still being drugged to the gills in post-op I remembered asking the nurse “What did Eric use to close me up?” (Eric was the orthopedic surgeon). She says “He used glue.”

Surprise. That’s not glue 🙄

Years ago I tried a dressing that was amazing. What is that subtle flavor? The host said he adds Portuguese sausage that he dices and pan fries first before mixing with the other components. I was sold. That’s how I’ve made mine ever since.

Where were you on Wednesday November 11, 1987? Me and a bunch of guys from my high school were pretty ripped and in San Francisco for a FREE U2 concert at what was then the old Justin Herman Plaza on The Embarcadero. No way we were going to school that day!

FB food memories: my fried chicken. I once cooked it for a winery event and had a highly respected Napa Valley chef team whom I cooked for quite frequently tell me (no joke): “This is better than what we get at Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bistro in Yountville!” ❤️
