Some interesting stuff in the new starter set for #StarWarsUnlimited. Mostly too underpowered for competative play, and imo that's a good thing. Luke is a corner case however, and that might be concerning for deck pricing.

Really digging the Legends design space in the upcoming SWU set. At first I was concerned that Revan would suffer too much from lacking a second aspect (for seemingly not much gain). I now find myself wondering how viable mono black will be once the set drops...

Not sure how I feel about the implementation of the force in #SWU. Using thr force being a parasitic mechanic (only interacts with game pieces that directly refer to itself) seems odd. Why not represent force use by exhausting friendly force units? Curious to see how it plays.

Yeah I'm thinking a Temur coco shell in Pioneer. Can even lean into combo pieces like Prosperous Innkeeper, which leads to the potential play pattern of; Coco on curve into SC Mage+Innkeeper. Treasure+SC Mage tap pays for Harmonizing coco to instantly cast it again.

and finally Prince Xizor get's a Starviper build that leverages it's manueverability and reposition shenanigans in a more powerful and versatile way. Including Mandalorian Optics is a master stroke as both a deep cut into the lore and as a solid choice for the build.

Cad Bane get's a nice simple build with a stronger emphasis on control than his customer card variant. I love that we get a modern version of Flachette Canon printed with an relevent design into a synergistic build and would love to see the card created as a stand alone upgrade.

I suddenly realized while pondering possible "fixed" versions of Confiscate, we already have them printed. They even scale up in cost to allow leader-upgrade targeting, with a little extra upside!
Not sure what the devs intentions are, but I feel keeping this effect in red is a strong move.

If you hate Gary as Troxill, remember Commander is a casual format and this is just another proxy option. You have always been able to proxy cards with whatever art you want, and still can. WOTC won't break down your door and confiscate your cards for printing Gary onto... Gary.

So the Spongebob secret lair are non mechanically unique reprints? Awesome! To me this sidesteps basically all the fundamentl issues with UB.
I view these as just another alt art/ proxy option. Choices are a good thing, and if some Spongebob fans jump onboard then it's win/win.

Went 2-1 at a JTL prerelease with Boba blue. Set seems great for limited, very aggressive. Boba is nuts!
Also, cracked a Vader unit. :)

My call for the most impactful leader from JTL is Major Vonreg.
I feel in terms of the 4R aggro leaders he asks the least in terms of deck building. Solid, versatile, and efficient stats/ effects. Deploys nicely on several different vehicle units, paired with Yellow.
