Just to note. January 23, 2019 there was a vote to reopen government (HJ RES 28, roll call vote 46) when the govt had been shut down for 30 days.

So many people forget what a horror it was before pre-existing made it so you couldn't get any health care. ever again. in your whole life.
And believe me, they looked for ANY pre-existing condition, no matter how small. High blood pressure was plenty.

@barackobama.bsky.social PreACA, my parents had to drop my coverage because I went to college part-time instead of full-time. We couldn’t afford FT tuition. I was denied health insurance at 3 different jobs because I have an inherited bleeding disorder. I went without ins until I got married.
