We went to the woods and asked a birch tree to join the band. We took tiny recordings of the sap flow, tapped it, thanked it, and drank the sap. Magic!

A bit gross, sorry. For the past 2 years I've been keeping a worm farm in the garden. I made a contact mic so we could hear their striations, but disappointingly the recording turned out a bit pants. Does anyone have any suggestions on cheap mic alternatives? I'd like to hear what they have to say!

I went out today with a little battery powered portable set up. I'm hoping to get out more this year and find some earthy textures to take back to the studio.
The music is made out of one small sample of kalimba, e-piano and a recording of a tin watering can.
Happy New Year!
