Bluesky! We're back!

And very happy to say we’re performing in Birmingham in May as part of The Seventh Wave Festival of Electronic Music.

An all-seated afternoon show. Support from the wonderful The Silver Field. Only 100 capacity.

We went to the woods and asked a birch tree to join the band. We took tiny recordings of the sap flow, tapped it, thanked it, and drank the sap. Magic!

Thank you to Psychic Dancehall festival for letting us pretend to be cool for an hour 😎

Hello. We're DJing at Psychic Dancehall, an experimental and electronica multi venue festival in Derby this Saturday.

We will probably play Aphex Twin and try our hardest not to play The Spice Girls but can't make any promises.

A few tickets left here at £30:

As a follow up to my post about the humongous lions mane mushroom. It is now entirely dehydrated, and I am about to perform a dual extraction to release compounds that will give my brain superpowers. The next record is gonna be synapsy 🍄

This account will get back to field recordings and micro-music soon, but I grew a humongous lions mane mushroom, and it felt like the kind of sidequest that you, the people, may be interested in. #shroomscrolling

I know a lot of people who didn't get on with this book, but I thought it was fantastic. Is there a genre name for books with no plot? I am all over that shit. #booksky

A bit gross, sorry. For the past 2 years I've been keeping a worm farm in the garden. I made a contact mic so we could hear their striations, but disappointingly the recording turned out a bit pants. Does anyone have any suggestions on cheap mic alternatives? I'd like to hear what they have to say!

Having read most Murakami in my twenties and not rating his last one, I wondered whether I'd outgrown him, but this one is perfectly Murakami by numbers. It's everything I wanted it to be. Half expected to see a dead unicorn this morning.

I went out today with a little battery powered portable set up. I'm hoping to get out more this year and find some earthy textures to take back to the studio.

The music is made out of one small sample of kalimba, e-piano and a recording of a tin watering can.

Happy New Year!

Next year, I'll be making machines make microtonal sounds, mining for tiny sounds in the peak district & combining the two to make patterns to make you feel things. I don't really know what this means yet, but the Arts Council have given me the chance to find out & I'm grabbing it with both hands ❤️

If it makes you feel any better, in this corner, we have seventies curtains covering old tax returns and unsold vinyl.

I spent some time today making a decorative and functional curtain to hide unsightly gear accumulated across the years. Worried it's too much. My eyes.

I work in a bookshop sometimes. This our new music section. Some bangers in there! If you're looking for recommendations "Ocean of Sound (ambient sound and radical listening in the age of communication) by David Toop is great. Please send me yours.

This is Alma. She couldn't care less about EQ but she does bring a certain softness to the studio.

Looks like this thing has turned into a snow appreciation account, sorry.
