Thanks everyone for the generous interest in this starter pack. Very glad it's been useful 🙏. It's already reached its limit of 150 people (non-dormant accounts only) so I can't add more people to this one. But there are some other great starter packs with overlapping themes, linked below 🧵
Starter Pack on Colonialism, Decolonisation & Race 👇. Interdisciplinary and not limited to academics. Set it up last week so I may have missed people who joined recently - pls let me know if you'd like to be added (or removed). ..Overlapping starter packs v.welcome!

The Handmaid's Tale is a good book. But did you know that there's a book written by a Black woman about a post-apocalyptic Earth heavily affected by climate change and societal decline. The book was published in 1993, but is set in 2024 following a presidential election 👀 #BookSky #BlackBookSky

The Coloniality of Academic Freedom and the Palestine Exception
This article reflects on my experience of being suspended and reinstated. It demonstrates how administrators, including those at my institution, knowingly violate academic freedom and free speech. ...

Bluesky academics, let's get to know each other! Quote this & tell me: 1) a project you're working on & 2) an odd idea/theory you aren't working on but keep thinking about.
Here's mine:
A textbook on "Law and Race"
A postcolonial Africanfuturist novel with time travel starring Cabral, Sankara, etc
