Math teacher and learner, trying to drag math education into the 21st Century. Heck, I'll settle for the 20th. Author of Math Adventures with Python.
Currently in mad scientist mode, adapting place value tiles as a puzzle where you make rectangles out of shapes. Unlike many #math games, when players figure out they're just factoring numbers they can get really good at it, and before they suspect anything, they're experts at factoring quadratics.

Happy Eid al-Fitr! I'm still working on the Islamic #Geometry sketches. This one came out all right. It's based on a design found in a mosque in Marrakech. I found it in Eric Broug's book. Lots of transformations: reflection, rotation, translation. #math

More Islamic patterns with a #Python package based on @processing.org called py5. Also with a little too much trial and error from somebody who claims to be a math guy. 😬 📏

Writing about learning #geometry through coding up Islamic patterns. Today it's hexagonal fractals! #math #programming #python

What says Saturday fun more than multiplying and dividing 9th degree polynomials? You only need the coefficients. #math #python #programming

They say I’m not a romantic guy but I never forget February 14th, the day in 1970 that The Who played their legendary concert at Leeds University, immortalized in their classic Live At Leeds album. ❤️👂🎸

All done with #AdventOfCode 2024. Fun ride as always!

Most memorable days for me:
- Day 14 (find the tree)
- Day 21 (robots inception)
- Day 24 (so that's how binary addition works!)

#py5 was very nice for making animations and I learned to use a statemachine to manage vis data
