imagine him scoring his first vs the Leafs tho
dream scenario:

- habs win tonight in regulation, magic number is 3
- get that 3 in the games in ontario + whatever nyr/det lose
- clinch by saturday
- demidov practices with the team the whole time
- nhl debut against the hawks on monday
-scores and gets carried out of the arena like rudy

Through the first six weeks of the season, the Canadiens went 5-10-2 and had the NHL’s worst points percentage (35.3%). Since then, they’ve gone 28-17-7 and posted the NHL’s 11th-best points percentage (60.6).

Just flashed on the scoreboard at the Bell Centre, Nick Suzuki becomes the fastest Canadiens player since Pierre Turgeon and Vincent Damphousse to 70 points in a season. He does it in his 67th game.

Lane Hutson's face was all nicked up after the game. He acknowledged this was a rough game...for his face.

“It was a physical game. My face is a little lower to the ice, so it takes a beating sometimes...If it keeps looking worse that’s a good thing. That means we’re still in it. I love it."

I wanted to know what Juraj Slafkovský did to merit his tough love in the second period last night. It wasn’t difficult to find, and no one in the Canadiens room tried to hide the fact it was warranted. This is a part of growth, and the Canadiens are dying to grow. www.nytimes.com/athletic/592...
Inside a teaching moment for Juraj Slafkovský and what it meant for the Canadiens
Benching a No. 1 pick is not easy, but Martin St. Louis felt it was necessary for a rebuilding Canadiens team, and it paid off.

#Habs MSL: "every now and then our youth is going to show... it's part of the process and the guys know and understand it. We all want to get to the same place and I know there's going to be some growing pains at time - sometimes the growing pain is collectively, sometimes it's individually..."

the habs being 2-3 years from being truly competitive with Demidov, Fowler, Hage & Co does not bode well with how impatient a large portion of online habs fans already are

Kelly and Paul Caufield came down to chat with all the fans. I was standing in front of one of Cole's former teammates growing up and got some great pics as a result 😊

yeah this part annoys me way more than the shooting part
I think an underrated thing that frustrates people about Matheson on the powerplay is that despite how strong he is offensively, he can be very ponderous with the puck. Like takes a LONG time to do not much, runs out the clock. Compare to how quick Hutson was making decisions to cause chaos.
