Former Senator from the Commonwealth.
I dunno, I think your spot on projection of Robbie Alomar in 2005 when he signed with the Devil Rays was a sign of greater things to come.

(If you don't recall what that was off the top of your head, the blog post was a picture of toast)

The New Yorker needs to give one of their writers 20,000 words to go ham on it.

5th Edition plays almost exactly like the video game Baldur's Gate 3! Quelle horreur!

Not that he's ignored now, but a major news organization putting his stuff front and center is more eyeballs than substack/social media.

He does really great work. Sucks that he doesn't have a more visible perch for his journalism.

To think I'd be looking back fondly at Michael Stokes Paulsen. Smdh.

They've got to go outside, turn around twice, and spit.

I don't think we can win until we both break the Republican party and replace a lot of weak-kneed Democrats. It's going to be a long process and this is just one battle. Otoh, I'da been for keeping the government shut down until Congress finally retook the power of the purse instead of capitulating.

The deciding factor over whether a leftist or a liberal fights or flees from fascism is how willing they personally are to stand by their convictions and fight for them, not some abstract pissing contest over who read the better theory in their undergrad poli-sci courses

I think it's useful to set ICE up for further failure while forcing the GOP to either splinter in accepting the small bore reforms or be forced to defend the indefensible. I could just be wrong.

I also think ICE et al need to be destroyed and put on trial, I just don't think we can get it yet.

It’s a power fantasy for weak men.

They cosplay as rulers while applauding their own subjugation.

The moment Tim Pool stops being useful—if he becomes a critic instead of a sycophant, decides an abuse has gone too far, or is simply in the wrong place at the wrong time—that same boot ends up on his neck.

I'm sure everything works out great for Bob and Mo. I wonder if Angleton is happy beyond his pocket event horizon, waiting for the stars to stop being right.

Same with making schools/churches officially off limits and requiring officers to wear ID. When ICE doesn't follow the law, it makes defeating them easier.
January 27, 2026 at 5:09 PM
Will ICE ignore the law? Sure, in some situations they absolutely will. But it makes their action of just grabbing people off the street presumptively illegal.

Judicial warrants for arrests would actually be a huge deal - currently they just need a final order of removal from an immigration court judge. That's a major change that would vastly decrease the rate of deportations. 1/2
