The Distinguished Visitor Program brings to campus local changemakers working on pressing issues for a residency. During their time here, they interact with the Stanford community by teaching a class, participating in the annual Distinguished Visitor lecture, and collaborating on projects.

Dr. Archana Pasupuleti, ‘05, is a medical director of teleneurology. Araceli Garcia, ’20, is an assistant public defender. Chris Escobedo, ’20, is a sustainability program manager. Cardinal Careers Program Manager Jessica Reynoso, '20, moderated the discussion.

After graduation, Chris completed the Schneider Summer Fellowship at the National Audubon Society and the SEI’s Climate Corps Fellowship with the City of Mountain View. Those experiences led to his current role at the City of Palo Alto Utilities.

That experience made him realize he wanted to pursue a career where he could address big challenges, feel the impact of his work, and contribute to organizations that are mission- and values-driven.

Dr. Pasupuleti is currently the Medical Director of Teleneurology at Pediatrix, where she leads national efforts to deliver pediatric neurology care via telehealth, particularly to hospitals and communities without local neuroscience services.

We were grateful to connect so many students to opportunities here at the Haas Center and across campus as we celebrate 10 years of Cardinal Service and 40 years of the Haas Center.

Over 50 students groups and community partners shared service opportunities with students. Inside the center was a service activity in collaboration with Valley Verde, where students made 264 micro green kits for San José community members.

Mark is being recognized for his efforts to mentor and teach students to apply economics principles to address real world issues. His research focuses on improving the health care sector and understanding the causes of and finding effective policies to address homelessness.

The students—Vivian Auduong, Richard Johns, Chloe Rollock, Jaden Slocum, and Michelle To—helped serve food, welcome guests, and set up the venue, which featured a mix of West African drumming, Chinese lion dancing, live jazz, and cuisine celebrating Black History Month and Lunar New Year.

This exhibition stems from a multi-year research initiative called The Asian-Black Racial Healing Project led by Baywell Health and Asian Health Services, two nonprofit medical organizations rooted in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1970s.
