When Dr. Archana Pasupuleti, '05, worked in the Office of Global Health at the Department of Health and Human Services through Stanford in Washington, she saw how health policy is shaped in real time and how government policy directly impacts lives, an experience that shaped her career trajectory.

Our annual Cardinal Service Fair in mid-September brought in over 750 new and familiar faces for a sunny afternoon filled with service opportunities. This was our first time in many years having the fair at the Haas Center and the mood was joyful.

Twice a week, Stanford students who are signed up as Ravenswood Reads tutors go to Redwood City and East Palo Alto to meet with local readers in kindergarten through third grade. Their tutoring time is focused on helping students expand their decoding and comprehension skills.

In late February, students helped Oakland community members celebrate the opening reception of "From Chinatown to West Oakland: Community Portraits of Healing," a powerful photo exhibition that highlights the lived experiences of Oakland’s Asian and Black communities since the COVID-19 pandemic.

At this year's Distinguished Visitor Lecture, Distinguished Visitors Alexandra Bernadotte of Beyond 12, Jaime-Alexis Fowler of Empower Work, Josh Nesbit of Emerson Collective, and Amanda Renteria of Code for America discussed how they are leveraging technology to drive social change.
