True, tone is lost on text so a lot of it ends up being a case-by-case basis.

When I was younger I often told people I’d kick them in the pants if they didn’t act right. The amount of times I actually did it, none. The amount of times I meant it versus a joke with a friend while laughing at each other, 50/50.

Honestly not sure but I can tell you that figurative phrases which can be threatening were common with Gen-X even face to face and isn’t an internet thing. Maybe the censorship on figurative exaggeration is the issue with it being on the internet.

People don’t need to be AI experts (maybe you both are, admittedly I am not) but it’s the same problem on repeat that businesses rather be mesmerized by shiny car sales jargon than understanding what it takes and what their teams actually do. Blinded by dollars and no sense.

Wow, the admission about HR and legal and then letting you go is crazy. How unbelievably unprofessional and the entire thing stinks.
