Every day I realize more and more just how much of a nerd I am.
I used JSON files for the first time today for a project I’m working on and it’s so cool! It’s pretty much just a better version of a text file but I’m still so amazed by it! It feels so fancy and tidy!

I almost got scripting to work, but then I ran into some bugs that I just couldn’t fix for the life of me. I’ll probably come back to it sometime, but right now I’m just really burned out.

I managed to get a (barely) working version of the engine. Right now, you can only put shapes on the screen and apply scripts to them to make them do things, but I’m proud of it.
I decided to at least attempt to make an engine because why not? If I can’t do it, I learned something new anyway. If I can, I still learned something new AND I have my own game engine!

I just found out that we almost had a 3d remake of Chrono Trigger (literally my one and only favorite RPG game), but Square Enix sent a cease-and-desist letter to Resurrection Games, the team that was working on it, and so it was never released.

I tried C++ a while ago, and all I can say is that I wish I started using it sooner.

I could use Unity since I already have some experience with it, learn a new game engine (like Godot), OR I could make my own game engine since that would allow me complete control over pretty much everything.

So I just finished Batman: Arkham Shadow and, long story short, I might be a DC fan now because HOLY SHIT THAT WAS INCREDIBLE!!!

In other news, I decided to try to relearn Java since we won’t have WiFi until later this week. Literally the only part I struggled with was remembering how to define the main method.

I’ve been in the process of moving for some time now. Finally, after 8 months and a 13 hour drive, I’ve fully moved! We just need to get a new WiFi Router and then I’ll probably post a lot more about programming and what not. Specifically game development, if I ever get into it enough.

I decided to try to make Topple self hosted just for fun which, in theory, doesn’t sound very tough to do.
To no one’s surprise, it’s actually VERY difficult. Apparently, a programming language where single characters represent every statement isn’t great for developing programming languages!

The thing I love about math is how it can make absolutely no sense while also making total sense.
My favorite example of this is the difference between 0.9(9) and 1. Visually, they’re different. But they’re also technically the same because there’s no real number to represent their difference.

My sister wants to make a game on Roblox. But she doesn’t know Lua… or any computer programming at all, for that matter. She IS, however, a digital artist.
So, being the greatest and bestest sibling of all time that I am, I’ll do most of the coding while she designs the visuals and whatnot.
