After six hours of Cities: Skylines 2 I'm getting more and more disappointed. It's not just the performance, the simulation is also erratic at times and, in many ways, incomprehensible.

Cities: Skylines 2 has received mixed reviews on Steam, with only 46% recommending the game. This was easily avoidable. Paradox Interactive should have delayed the release at least long enough so that a new player's first impression isn't the crazy stuttering of the menu at the start.

Today is CitizenCon, the annual gathering of the Star Citizen community. While I have been a long-time supporter, I lost interest because it takes too long to get back into the game and figure out controls and stuff when there's an update. And bugs, of course. I am now just waiting for Squadron 42.

Paradox Interactive on performance of Cities: Skylines 2. “...we have not achieved the benchmark we targeted. [...] we still think for the long-term of the project, releasing now is the best way forward.” This means: We know C:S 2 runs like shit on PCs. It's a perpetual beta. Wait for patches.
