It was great to join friends and colleagues in the @foescot.bsky.social bloc at Scotland’s Climate March in Glasgow today.

As governments, NGOs, and lobbyists meet in Brazil for COP30, people here and around the world are demanding climate action and justice!

Last night I attended Queer Folks’ Tales at the Lemon Tree - part of Aberdeen Queer Arts Festival.

I’m very proud of my friend Matt who did his first performance at this great event. He absolutely rocked it. All the performers were brilliant.

It was a pleasure to meet @kmfag.bsky.social (local chair for Bergen) and Einar Wiig as they campaigned for the Norwegian Green Party (MDG). Our nations and parties have a lot in common.

Norway goes to the polls tomorrow to elect a new Storting. Fingers crossed they can achieve a record result!

Received a lovely card today. I have the best family, friends, and supporters in the world. Thank you all again!

The campaign to elect a record number of Scottish Green MSPs begins now.

VOTING NOW OPEN!

Have a watch of my campaign video and find out why you should give me your 1st preference vote.

We need an anti-cuts campaigner in Holyrood. Someone who won’t vote for more cuts to local services. That person is me.

Scottish Green members!

If you live in North East Scotland, it is time to give me your 1st preference vote. It is time for change.

We need an anti-cuts campaigner in the Scottish Parliament. I will bring decency, honesty, and compassion into our politics.

Voting in the Scottish Greens’ selections opens tomorrow, Tuesday the 1st July, and closes on the 11th July.

Your vote matters. Say no to public service cuts; say yes to change. #VoteGuy1

In the North East, we need a lead candidate who can reach out beyond our base. We need someone who can expand the Scottish Green vote and take on Reform.

I have a proven track record of this. Under my leadership, we doubled our vote in Aberdeen from 2017 to 2022.

Say yes to change. #VoteGuy1

I received a lovely card from students at NESCol this morning (I received some delightful treats on the day too!).

Their advertising pitches were great. All of the students have a bright future if they continue producing such great work.

I missed Volunteers’ Week as I was away on holiday.

Lovely to come into SHMU today and get this card. The people here do some amazing work for our communities.

(There were sweets but they didn’t last long 😅)

Today was a great day for Grampian Pride. Fantastic to see so much solidarity with the Palestinian people and support for climate action.

The history of our community is one of shared struggle and determination, like our support for the miners strike. We can and must build a better world for all.

Thank you to @dis-ppl-protest.bsky.social organisers for inviting me to today’s protest.

The services @abshirecouncil.bsky.social propose to cut are vital to disabled and elderly people. These cuts to public services need to stop.

Thank you to Janet, Fiona and all others for their work on this.

Whole city is celebrating the Dons win. Mon eh Dons!

Huge thank you to everyone who counter-demo’d the fascists today ✊

No place for hate in Aberdeen!

Brilliant turnout at Aberdeen’s trans rights demo. I was asked to give a speech, but today was a time for trans people and their voices to be platformed and heard.

Hugely proud of @houstinium.bsky.social and all the other organisers. Trans rights are human rights. I and many others stand with you.
April 20, 2025 at 4:36 PM
Sending solidarity and support to all my trans siblings today. You are not alone.

Many of us will keep fighting alongside you until your human rights are secured and protected.

I represented @foescot.bsky.social at today’s Disabled People Against Cuts (DPAC) rally in Aberdeen.

We stand in solidarity with disabled people across Scotland and the UK. We must all say NO to austerity 2.0.

The rich need to pay their taxes. Our social security must be protected.

We should not be providing arms nor trading with a state that allows this unchecked violence and apartheid to continue.

The UK and EU should impose an arms embargo and sanctions on Israel.
March 24, 2025 at 7:25 PM
A dreich day in Aberdeen today, but people still came out to protest the disproportionate police response to Palestine solidarity campaigners.

Israel broke the ceasefire. Israel is on trial for war crimes. Israel’s leaders should face justice, not those campaigning for a just peace.

That is pretty cool. I caught this gem the other day

The UK’s net zero economy grew 10% last year. It is worth over £80bn GVA and supports nearly 1 million jobs.

We need to increase investment in a growing sector instead of scaling back our ambitions. The future for communities across the North East depends on it.

Like many other Scottish Green members, I’m baffled at the news our MSPs are voting for the budget.

Whilst some of the announcements are welcome, have we learned from past mistakes? A bus cap trial? Look what happened to peak rail fares…
