"Take me, subtract movies, and you get zero." - KUROSAWA, Akira https://letterboxd.com/cremildo/
A movie that takes place where you’re from.

(The same state, not town, in my case.)

Underwhelming week? Not really. Monday's movie was easily the best: Linklater's 𝘕𝘰𝘶𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦 𝘝𝘢𝘨𝘶𝘦. #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched

𝘏𝘢𝘮𝘯𝘦𝘵 might win producer Steven Spielberg that second Best Picture Oscar which has eluded him since 𝘚𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘙𝘺𝘢𝘯 lost out to a Harvey Weinstein romcom over a quarter of a century ago. #filmsky 🎬

If 𝘚𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴 prevails in the Best Original Score and Original Song categories at the Academy Awards, Ludwig Göransson will have won four Oscars in less than a decade. Staggering for a 41-year-old composer. #filmsky 🎬

A Brazilian classic was the highlight of the week, but despite my rating, I can sense Frankenstein will have a long shelf life. #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched

I was about to moan about Hero and House of Flying Daggers not being on 4K UHD, then remembered that Raise the Red Lantern, To Live and Not One Less didn't even get Blu-rays in the US and UK. #filmsky 🎬

In all fairness, I chose undemanding movies due to sickness. #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched

Masahiro Shinoda. I've seen eight of his films so far. Though not always thrilling, they're all showcases for immaculate blocking. Shinoda was a master at arranging elements within the frame, be it 1.37 or 2.35. #filmsky 🎬

Comedy should be listed as a genre for 𝘝𝘪𝘺 on IMDb and Letterboxd. The movie I saw last night was quite clearly and intentionally humorous, from start to finish.

Monday's movie was 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘍𝘰𝘶𝘳: 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘱𝘴, which was the one I enjoyed the most. Excuse my lowbrow taste. #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched

Given the number of upvotes, it seems that shorts aren't movies to the Letterboxd community on Reddit, and those who log them are cheating.

Cinema was born in short form, folks. Am I supposed to watch 𝘕𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 & 𝘍𝘰𝘨 or 𝘐𝘴𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘍𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘴 and not log them simply because they're... Short? #Filmsky 🎬

It may be a fool's errand to speculate about the Academy Awards half a year in advance, but it's hard to shake the feeling that P.T. Anderson will finally collect a bunch of Oscars next March, even if 𝘖𝘯𝘦 𝘉𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘈𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘈𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 bombs with audiences. #Filmsky 🎬
