Musk is totally right on this one. It will aggravate the fiscal deficit, thereby the trade deficit and brings the US in real fiscal difficulties. This shows that US bond markets and the dollar are different than they used to be and investors lose trust. ht @paulkrugman.substack.com.web.brid.gy

Trump and Putin talked. I doubt any European other than Putin was informed or involved on a strategic level. Meanwhile Hegseth tells Europeans off on their own defence. Welcome to geopolitical reality, Europe. But sure, let's hope that Trump will be nice.

Interesting findings by #EIOPA and #ECB showing that the insurance coverage against natural catastrophes is quite patchy. As the frequency of extreme weather events and other natural catastrophes increases with #climate change, this will mean more losses directed affecting households and companies
