That's most likely the case, it's just interesting to see the old design actively being used for an official Nintendo product when they're so protective of their brand identity. Wonder if they'll try to force Universal to make new costumes based off the redesign.

It's kind of weird that Universal isn't using DK's new design esp with how much focus Nintendo has been giving him for the Switch 2. It kind of makes me wonder if the new design is a last minute/super new thing Nintendo wasn't really planning.
