Yes! That’s how I’ve always felt about the Nosferatu take on Dracula, although maybe that’s how I feel about Dracula, too.

I really like What We Do in the Shadows (tv more than film, but I like both), but that’s so different from standard vampire fare. Blade is fine, Buffy is fine, Byzantium I liked, what am I missing? (/12) #nosferatu #vampires

I’ll admit I didn’t give Nosferatu a fair chance, but I don’t know that I would’ve enjoyed it even if I had an open mind. I don’t know if I’ve seen a version of Dracula that I’ve liked. (/11) #nosferatu #vampires

We try to see at least one movie in the theaters as a family around the end of the year. The other film they wanted to see was Wicked, and I wanted to see that even less. I went into the movie with a bad attitude. (/10) #nosferatu #vampires

I’ve liked Eggers’ films less and less since The Witch, so going to see this movie was not a prospect I was looking forward to. My whole family was quite excited to see the film (and they all enjoyed it a lot). (/9) #nosferatu #vampires

About 2/3 of the way through I was dying for something that was not blue or grey. I just wanted a spot of color. That said, the set design and costuming was top notch. (/8) #nosferatu #vampires

So the voice just grated on me, and I knew that wouldn’t get better (i.e., he wouldn’t start talking like Nick Hoult all of a sudden) so…I dreaded every time he was going to talk (/7) #nosferatu #vampires

I did NOT like Skarsgård’s voice, and I knew that would be a point of contention as I suspected, correctly, that most people would love it. I did like the Orlok character design and how imposing Skarsgård was as Orlok. (/6) #nosferatu #vampires

In the current movie, I thought most of the acting performances were top notch. (Notably I thought Dafoe mailed his scenes in; the guy can do accents, he can carry gravitas, it just wasn’t there for me in this film) (/5) #nosferatu #vampires

There are a LOT of things in Murnau’s original film that were groundbreaking. The use of Orlok’s shadow having tangible effects is brilliant and I thought Eggers did a nice job of updating that effect. (/4) #nosferatu #vampires

I was disappointed to hear that Evers wanted to remake Nosferatu as I’ve found that story/adaptation of Dracula goofy at best. It’s hard to compare movies 100 years apart as so much has changed in the industry. (/3) #nosferatu #vampires

Outside of Let the Right One In (the Swedish original, which I love; the American remake is fine, the tv show was ok) I can’t think of a vampire story that I enjoy. (/2) #nosferatu #vampires

Which, of course, is followed up by one of the most horrifying scenes of the season #killerbob #twinpeaks
