I am distraught. Was extreme weeding the top of my bank and accidentally uncovered a nest of baby birds. Have re-camouflaged it as best I can and retreated to the house. I hope parent birds feel safe enough to come back soon. TW nest full of baby birds, please be ok x

My cat wouldn’t shift off the pillow behind my head and her purring, random licking and lip smacking was keeping me awake. At 2 am I dragged her and the pillow she was on to the other side of the bed, she’s still there. Sound asleep. Bless her.

Cleaned out the spare room and got teen settled in there, got their room emptied ready for the builders to start today. Load to the tip and more to go, and all the ‘to keep’ stuff stashed around the house. Given the state of the underfloor situation, really glad we’ve started. #arovalleyisaswamp

I was up for sunrise on the return trip from Timaru. First proper road trip for me and the dog. She’s the best travelling companion. Happy to be home now.

I just spent far longer than I should have walking the dog in the bush. I normally do this track in the other direction and somehow missed a turn in the near dark. Was properly dark by the time I got down to the road (where the red x is) but very happy not to have fallen down a back.

I redeemed a very ordinary sausage apple and onion casserole with some spiced rice, and won the second half with a yum orange cake. Dinner used up all the old apples and oranges that were sulking on the bench. Love it when a plan comes together.
