This column is painful to read. I'm all for letting writers from non-mainstream get to vote, but maybe they should actually be able to write first.

here's his reason: " I believe in wins for starting pitchers... Starting pitchers get wins by pitching deep into games and by having a lead when they leave."
Yeah. And there are two ways to get leads and wins: Shut down their hitters, or your own hitters outscore theirs. Pettitte did the latter.

The thing is, Will, they don't care about public opinion. The Ellisons, through Weiss, spiked the story for an audience of one: Trump, so he'll be sure to approve their deal for Warner and CNN.

ah, the second rule of journalism: There's ALWAYS a local angle.
(like the probably apocryphal Long Island Newsday headline on a Manhattan suicide: LI Man Nearly Hit By Falling Body)

amazing how you can be "national correspondent" for a major network and not know what I was taught on Day 1: If you report criminal information that's not from an official *govt action* or *govt record* you are at risk of libel. even at my first little rinky-dink paper we wouldn't have done this.

I was on the campus yesterday picking up my son. When he was admitted, I literally thought to myself, this is the last college that would have a mass shooting. As I made my way to Littlefield, I saw so many parents hugging their kids like there was no tomorrow. And then I was one of them.

To use the old Baseball Primer line: This person should have their children taken away.
I hope this jackass realizes that doing this only tarnishes David Wright by tying him to a fiasco of a vote, one that's going to be in the spotlight all voting season.

Company management has to demonstrate a use in order to justify the money they’ve already spent. But yes, agree 100%. And when they run analytics for the quarter, they’ll wonder why clickthroughs and engagement are down. And then spend money to fix that.

“….there were too many cutaways from your face, however, which bothered me personally for private reasons related to my feelings about your face…”
I’m not an emojis guy but if I were, it would be time for the barf emoji.

If only I'd known that the key to a journalism career wasn't hard work, objectivity and ethics, and instead just paid teenagers for sex.

And coming maybe two weeks after Summers called on Harvard’s administration to investigate the Crimson, no less. As a journalist, there could be almost nothing sweeter.
