Looking forward to this. Just reposting the flyer here with alt-text added in case that can be useful for future promo; thanks again for the invitation!

Especially for friends and neighbors here in Minnesota: a call to proactively, intentionally, consistently show up for the kind of culture work + youth work + future-focused work that TruArtSpeaks does.

Please join me in donating before 11/20 to help get the 4x match: www.truartspeaks.org/donation

I’m working the @buttonpoetry.bsky.social table and signing books at the Twin Cities Book Festival this morning until 1pm or so. Got some free zine bundles too.

From basic skill-building stuff like public speaking, social media, and facilitation/program design, to deeper dives into integrating arts and culture into movement work, these are all workshops I've facilitated for other groups and would be down to bring to yours: guante.info/workshops

Between local food shelves, mutual aid networks, plus the ongoing work to dismantle the system that creates hunger in the first place, there's lots to support right now.

Just one option: @utranmyhre.bsky.social and I are gathering contributions here: teamfeed.feedingamerica.org/participants...

My assumption is that the reference here is unbelievably niche (though not for designer @utranmyhre.bsky.social), but also that the sentiment is true even if you don't get the joke.

Let's keep this fundraiser moving: teamfeed.feedingamerica.org/participants...

It's been cool to see the Fateh/Davis/Hampton campaigns focused on positive messaging and lifting each other up, but it's ALSO good to remember and affirm why it's time for change: www.jacobfreyfacts.com

...I'll add on to this what I wrote the day after performing at the June No Kings march here in MN. The focus in mine is less on macro-scale movement stuff and more on sharing some ideas for individuals wondering "how can I do more?"

In the endless battle over narrative, this image shows: resistance isn’t just a deep blue city thing; people everywhere are showing up and pushing back.

Thanks @norsoco.bsky.social. (I’m just reposting their original but with alt-text).

A thread in my new asynchronous online class is trying to move beyond easy answers and maximalist positions. Both "art IS the revolution!" and "art is pointless!" sand the edges off a much more interesting conversation about the function(s) of art in a movement context: guante.info/meetingthemoment

For anyone else out there who thinks in grids and continuums, this is a visual from ep. 3 of my asynchronous course, “MEETING THE MOMENT: Political Poetry and the Anthemic Impulse,” and it’s a good peek into what the rest of the class/workshop is about.

Will share more later, but for now, an announcement:

"Meeting the Moment: Political Poetry and the Anthemic Impulse" is open for registration now. An *asynchronous* class sharing questions, tactics, examples, etc. that have been useful to me.

I am technically still on a social media break finishing up a big project, but I wanted to pop in to share this one-session virtual workshop I'll be facilitating via @buttonpoetry.bsky.social on Thursday (9/18).

"I didn't believe in the fight / the fight made me a believer" is a load-bearing lyric on this album. Find a political home. Experiment. Try. I think hope grows from that, not the other way around.

Been working on this behind-the-scenes project for a long time: guante.info/resources

My site has always been a place to share resources that I use in my ed/facilitation work; here are 3 new "resource hubs:" on spoken word, counter-narrative masculinity, and plugging into activism/organizing.

I know there's all this discourse around public displays of grief for people you didn't know all that well, but I want to share this because I just want as many people as possible to read/watch/listen to Andrea Gibson.

A little preview of our "rootbeer & resistance" event this Sunday, 7/13 at @boneshakerbooks.bsky.social, 3-5pm. Free. Masks required.

If you love old-fashioned, hand-to-hand info sharing (zines, handouts, community resource boards, etc.), we'll have a bunch of cool stuff. Plus some poetry.
