Another great book about the politics around the treatment of the dead in ancient Greece and how we can review modern times' cases through the classical texts. Excellent reading by Efimia Karakantza and her colleagues that shows why humanity studies remain relevant.

"Electronic books & libraries in Greece: examination of the field" is a collection of studies about ebooks in GR libraries, with the support of @knowledgerights21.org, that highlight problems & opportunities. Interesting reading with some help by yours truly www.knowledgerights21.org/reports/e-bo...

Cost and lack of information are mentioned as counter-motives. Unfortunately, for-profit repositories are more preferred than IRs; the lack of mandate policies contributes to this. I am thankful to @salathan.bsky.social & Maria Frantzi for their hard and thorough work. I am proud to work with them.

The @investinopen.bsky.social team issued an urgent call to action to support the global research ecosystem, as recent funding cuts and program changes in the US & other countries threaten the open infrastructure that underpins global research. Start acting at docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

With George Kazantzidis we have organized an event about horror literature, with live music> horror-pariah.bandcamp.com/album/horror... Now, I had designed the poster for this event about horror in classical antiquity, one I enjoyed much. So, I'm thrilled to see this published, also in #openaccess

I have spent the entire day working on the reviewing process of the @libereurope.bsky.social conference. This version, with more than 200 submissions from 40 countries, is driving my excitement to new heights. Very fascinating ideas & practices from research libraries from all over the world.

This is the view from the chapel of St. Jerusalem in the area of Livadeia, a small city in the Greek mainland. It takes half an hour and more than 600 steps to reach the chapel, but the view is rewarding.

On my way to the LIBER winter event via Venice. Not the obvious choice to reach Maribor, but certainly one of the most classy ones. Some time is reserved to walk around when going back. libereurope.eu/eventscalend...
