October is best time to get flu shot before it starts to spread. Immunity takes about 2 weeks to kick in. Waiting until Nov. or Dec. increases chance of getting flu before shot produces immunity.

Rewatched 1st season of SNL. The writers made Gerald Ford (Chevy Chase) look like an incompetent fool on every show the whole season. Endless amount of vicious satire and snark. Even minor blunders were ridiculed. Media needs to mock Trump the way SNL mocked Ford.

If Congress flips in 2026, they need to repeal the Homeland Security Act of 2002. Restore Customs Dept. to what it was before 2002 and bring back the Immigration Bill for a vote that drumpf killed before the election. Eliminate ICE and DHS.

Great article, well worth reading. Lesson in why the public needs to have input on local hospital management and why a community must expect transparency about hospital operations. Safety net hospitals need to limit services and transfer out those they can’t provide safe patient care for.

I used to work for Emory Healthcare. Patients would also drive from AL, NC, SC, and TN. Opthalmology and Neurosurgey are excellent. Now work for BJC Health in St. Louis. Many drive from southern MO and surrounding states due to location of services and specialists.

Have attended their concerts since HS. Base has much community support and a desirable location. Recognizing 1st time military players in uniform and presenting coins, nice but never done before in the past. Is recruitment of military musicians low? Is overall recruitment decreasing also?

Military band from local AF base has holiday concerts each year. Last night program listed 50 band members. 11 were not active duty military; 7 civilian musicians and 4 retired military. Also 8 active duty were recognized playing 1st time in uniform. High # of civilians and new members. Unusual.

Grew up in a home with a coal furnace. Took turns shoveling coal daily into the furnace stoker from the coal bin in our basement. It blew out soot laden air heating our house. Dad hauled and shoveled coal loads into a bin. Coal is dirty and high maintenance. Coal ming is ruinous to land. No thanks.
