What if we "flipped" the income tax structure? Preferential income tax rates for "work" income, and ordinary income tax rates for passive income, including capital gains. If our government and its politicians truly value "work," perhaps the income tax code could reflect that.

Do we have any data about the effectiveness of "knocking on doors"? Despite the fact that some of our local Democratic candidates claim to receive favorable conversations with Republican households, I'm concerned about the "Iowa nice" effect: telling the "door-knocker" what he or she wants to hear.

Prediction: Within the next day or so, Trump will claim victory, implying that Canada (and/or Mexico) agreed to "his" terms -- even though they didn't. It's all a ruse, but one that will cost us all a lot of money.
