Former criminal defense and constitutional law attorney, educator, and executive leader. Performed standup comedy and ditched a small aircraft at night over the Gulf of Mexico. I'm a progressive secular humanist who enjoys reading, writing, and coding.
Yesterday, during the middle of a sentence, I stopped talking for 30 seconds.

I was doing an impression of the #Newark Air Traffic Control Tower.

If working in a factory one's entire life is the "American Dream," then why aren't you doing it, Howard?

(My apologies for not referring to a factory as an "advanced manufacturing facility.")

I work for an SAAS company that sells software for septic pumpers.

I asked #AI to generate a short video showing "septic pumpers pumping a septic tank," and this is what I got...

...which is why AI and bots are not allowed anywhere close to our customer service processes.

Disappointed with Starbuck's new "buy something or get out" policy?

Looking for an alternative where you can hang out all day, enjoy WiFi, and not be required to purchase anything?

It's called a public library. Check it out!

Wearing a new Star Wars shirt my daughter gave me for Christmas.

Is her gift implying that I have a split personality?

Maybe next Christmas I'll get a shirt showing "Good Kirk/Evil Kirk" as depicted in "The Enemy Within" episode of Star Trek.

While flying back from Florida, I refactored the "Fasten seat belt while seated" instruction that is printed on the back of the seats.

The Fourteenth Amendment's Citizenship Clause cannot be repealed by an Executive Order: that would be blatantly unconstitutional. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if Thomas and Alito concocted some line of convoluted "reasoning" asserting otherwise.

I've been reading newer editions of The Rich Get Richer and the Poor Get Prison since my undergrad days. Backed by intensive research, the book captures the consequences of our criminal justice system, a system I've observed for myself as a former criminal defense and constitutional law attorney.
