Whenever I see somebody praise common sense over education, I think about how common sense says the sun revolves around the Earth. Common sense is simply making lazy assumptions based on gut feelings and our body's inefficient data input organs.

Paranoia is the search for meaning in a world where all faith in religion has been lost. If religion is about putting order to a random and chaotic universe then where do you find that order when you can't believe in religion anymore? You find it in conspiracies.

I don't think enough people know that Thomas Pynchon's novels are absolutely hilarious. Sure, they're difficult. But I think if more people knew going in how funny they are, more people would attempt the read.
