I guess unlike the Mayor situation (where our choices were various flavors of shit), here both candidates seem pretty good, and (assuming they give Renney a decent list spot) both will probably end up in Parliament anyways

I've just been pondering Rongotai electoral history...Annette King all the way down, then Eagle was nice and safe until he fucked off to try and be mayor, so we chose Genter. Labour nomination of a White Dude feels weird, a kind of gentrification.

That's incredibly unlikely in Rongotai, our vote is reliably Left with the Nats in third place, but I'd still prefer we weren't put in a situation where we have yet another White bloke vying to oust a woman. And, yes, I know the list is a thing.

Dunno. I just wish they'd stand Renney somewhere that he could inspire change, but I guess that's an anathema in NZ politics.

Would it be so terrible to suggest Renney move to a different location and run there? Is that entirely abhorrent to NZ political thinking? What about Epsom and having him eviscerate Seymour?

Though, if I'm honest, the vote is always between Labour and Green here in Rongotai, I'd just, personally, prefer more Green, and Labour putting their energy into shifting mindsets in tediously National electorates...
Bottom line, I'm frustrated at Renney not being utilised more strategically.

They blew it with Eagle and his overt careerism. Wellington lost a lot of trust in Labour and I'm not sure how they're going to regaining that trust. My issue is more frustration at having a good Labour candidate in direct competition with a good Green candidate, and the risk of splitting the votes
