The intrepid is infinitely lighter, but fiddly setting up. Build quality is, well, average.

Crown is lighter, the trade of is much harder to use barrel lenses. The rear shutter expands that aspect.

Keep in mind, with the grafs you are sacrificing some of the movements. I have owned and hiked with both.

The speed is actually about the same weight Richard. Where the MPP has more ally fittings, the speed has the rear shutter. If you aren't bothered about the rear shutter on the speed then the crown is a tad lighter.

Find yourself a good old fashioned anolog one, I find them rather calming.

Lol, I pressed the wrong button! I don't scan negs anymore. I scan my prints (wet prints). So... 6! 🤣

The glow in the highlights is effectively eery.

They look great, what are you rating it at, out of interest.

Completely understandable, pairing a film you like and your preferred development is what it all about.

One of my regulars uses ilfosol 3, while he has to be careful with how he treats high contrast scenes he has good success with low light stuff. I have a formula for ID-11 1:2 that works very well controlling grain. Don't get me started on stand. 🤣

Ooof, 17yr old! She will not be happy with that mistake.

The 400 I use for workshops mostly. It plays well at 400 so pretty straight forward. Prints OK etc.

Kentmere is actually pretty decent as a budget film, I have yet to purchase any 200.

Wasn't for Cyanotype type day but my 7yr old experimented creating samples for her textile and design course. Had to get them to greens and browns for the remit.

I am on a mini break too, visiting daughter 2 at uni. Have a nice time mucker.

I will admit, I stock up Christmas and birthdays etc.

Sometimes I rate at 400, even 500 and up temps to 24°, times though I am still tuning in.

Tmax 400 is pretty much my general wandering about 35mm film. How and what I do is depends. Atm I am over at Southsea, reasonable light etc. So rating at 250 and will develop in tmax developer quite gently.

They are, or can be quite different. Developer and rating play quite a part.

That's great, and a little disturbing.

Sodium sulfite = Hypo clear.

Save the money, use it for portraits... 😉
September 25, 2025 at 7:01 PM
Ha, gotcha... Being used to the super D, how many times have you forgot to reset aperture after focusing, one of my rushing brain fart errors. Them press photographers had some skills.

How did you lose the shots? The shutters tend to announce their activity. I just palm slap my forehead and and recock the Mirror.
September 25, 2025 at 5:02 PM
Don't worry Ralph, I often accidentally slide mine into time mode. The one saving grace is the shutter release doesn't trigger the curtain. And yes my 2x3 is for more free moving than my 3x4. The different mechanisms on my 4x5 auto is fairly incidental proof.
