What once made some sense now makes much less. Seems like slicing the pie into smaller bits doesn't necessarily help you apreciate the whole.

Thanks Claire. I meant no criticism of you. A broader view than the responses your post elicited. It is not a choice between payers and freeloaders. We are part a sharing community where most exchanges of information and expertise are freely volunteered. If people want to pay OK.

I'm OK with research as a business. However, 100s of 1000s willingly and happily volunteer their time to help others doing genealogy around the world. There would be little progress if we were bound to a commercial model. Shout out to the #WikiTree community.

Also recovers transcriptions of trained material similar but not the document submitted and falsely asserts it as a reliable response. even when challenged 3xtimes before showing that while it can do a very good transcription it does not provide one without challenge or strong initial guidance.2/2

#genealogy and #familyhistory is my comfort zone. Giving me a different frame of reference for the cruel irrational nonsense that pssses for politics these days.

Did they have children baptised by Fr. Joseph 'Bede' Sumner like my GGGM? I have done a profile on him in #WikiTree

Great points. I chose #wikitree after some research after Google returned a connection in there for my GM which was wrong. Joined to fix it up. Now have #CC7 of 11K. Helped a 3C's wife to digitise her paper research to preserve it. That helped.
