He was very clear in his mayoral campaign that he doesn't believe in talking, only doing.

You'll find out whether your neighbourhood has been slated for destruction for the hyperspace bypass when the Vogon bulldozers arrive to demolish your home planet.

Was this before or after the Crosstown had reached it's 10th year under construction, though? Cause... I feel like, maybe, 14 years ago, when they started construction, the planned capacity may indeed have been more than enough for the foreseeable future along the route...

When has Toronto's approach to poverty ever (at least in the last, say, 2 or 3 decades) been anything else, though, Jennie?

I'd argue that any driver training program that lacks a behind-the-wheel component isn't sufficient to actually ensure that graduates have a base understanding of the material, or that 5-10 years is far too long an interval, but at this point, anything would be better than the current nothing.

Hot damn, I know Windsor is a little south of Toronto, but isn't it mostly just west? That's a wild temperature difference at comparable latitude and altitude.

Hopefully that heatwave makes it's way towards us here in the City soon. I'm done with looking at (and having to avoid) snow on our roads.

Massive swathes of sidewalks untouched by city crews all day on the west side of downtown. This must’ve been a budget decision, not to send out full crews on a long weekend Sunday

Here's hoping that either the City gets their act together this weekend (ha, fat chance), and/or that small affinity groups of community members are planning how to address this obvious municipal shortcoming next week.

Would love to see a handful of snow-clearing parties.

If we're seeking medieval solutions to modern-day problems, I feel like the guillotine may be a better bet than the trebuchet.

There's days, though, that I wish I could maintain that level of blissful ignorance for more than a day or two. This terminally-online keeping up with the news can't be good for our health.

It's damn sure no good for our mental state.

I can generally deal with the *later that day* people.
It's the friends who come to me a week or two later with "Did you hear..." that drive me mad.

Similar, although at a different scale, to the surge of American voters who Googled, on the eve of the election, "Did Biden drop out?"
