My Name Brain
@grrrumpy.bsky.social
A 16 year-old brain trapped in the body of a grumpy, old, mid-50s man. LET ME OUT!!!
I deactivated and deleted my account months ago. A couple of weeks ago I got an email telling me my account has been suspended for "inauthentic behavior." Whatever that means. This is like ghosting an ex and then months later they tell you they're breaking up with you. Like...I know, bitch. Keep up.

I'm not crazy! I'm not the only one that remembers and loves that game!

I've always been a fan of both. And BSG, Alien, Predators, Space 1999, Buck Rogers, Hitchhiker's Guide, ALF, Battle of the Planets, Transformers. Several of those franchises are still going.

Definitely throwback to 80s/90s feral kid movies. Goonies, E.T., Stand By Me, Sandlot, Explorers, Land Before Time, Labyrinth. Kids on an adventure getting in way over their heads. Inept or absent parents. "There's no place like home." My kids got to watch a new feral kid adventure and they love it.

It's awkward/annoying in that it's borderline attempted stolen valor. He's been told repeatedly that only veterans and their families are eligible. But he continues to try. Which also highlights no one in his family has served.

I work with Trump supporters that know nothing of Trump's ideas. For them, it's like rooting for Alabama over Ohio State. Straight, white, men have the luxury of doing that. Win or lose, nothing much changes for them.

It was never considered a kids' movie. Hence, the PG rating. There were toy and cartoon tie-ins but that also applies to other non-kid movies like Jurassic Park (PG-13) and Jaws (a very strange PG).

I recommend watching the original Ghostbusters. It's one of the funny things we deserve and it helps us get through these times.

I had no horse in that race but it was a phenomenal game marred by a botched (IMHO) missed targeting call at the end of regulation. ASU should have won in regulation. That being said, they had more opportunities and still came up short. Great game!

This is absolutely one of the best years for music. I was a junior in h.s. I'm just reading through the comments here to remind myself of songs I need to download.

Gotta be Nightshift by Commodores. My Dad was old school Motown, jazz, and soul. I inherited his musical tastes.

You sure he wasn't also trans and got his operation in public school without his parents knowing?

And it gets worse. Transfer Portal doesn't apply to them. We're seeing entire teams rebuilt using the Portal. You can't just transfer into the service academies to play football. They're all at a big disadvantage now. Only the Army/Navy game is on a level playing field.

My only complaint about the Toledo game is that one of the announcers was so obviously Pitt biased. He wasn't hiding it and it got annoying. But it was a fantastic game!
