Currently playing this minimal electronic album - Intersound "Aural Architecture", from 2014 (Greece). This kind of thing works well in cold weather I think (or maybe it's just because of the cover photo and me being easily influenced).

Another I don't think I posted up. Just a charity shop Music For Pleasure find. Singer/pianist Nellie Lutcher.
Had a couple of tracks on comps but hadn't realised how good she was, distinctive style, although even she can't save "Alexander's Ragtime Band" which I've always hated.

Playing another one I think I forgot to post when I bought it last year. After the disappointing "Sinners" soundtrack a few months back I've been listening to blues and gospel more...

Walter de Figueiredo "Umbanda" 🇧🇷
Got this a while back but think I forgot to post it. Call-and-response vocals with lots of percussion.
I think Umbanda is another religion that's a mix of various things, in this case Spiritism, Catholicism and Afro-Brazilian beliefs

Sylvia Moore "Jungle Magic" - strange, folky hippy exotica 🌴
Found a copy a while back year but missing the record (had a SAW record inside!)
Got this ex-BBC copy slightly cheaply on eBay (seller made the big mistake of trying to remove the stickers), to pair up with the nice sleeve

Some records working well with the cold today - Jelloul Osman (Tunisian bagpipes, from last year's #VinylSanta , banging), Alasdair Roberts & Volvir, Henry Wolff and Nancy Jennings "Tibetan Bells", and Medieval songs c.1300 on Das Alte Werk
November 19, 2025 at 3:16 PM
Another recent buy - SQÜRL "Some Music for Robby Müller" (2020)
Jim Jarmusch and someone else doing an atmospheric guitar-y soundtrack thing.
Big thumbs down to Oxfam's new price stickers, one of which has taken a chunk of cover with it

The Rural Tradition "The Miserable Effects of a Wasted Life" - found this recently, had seen it online years ago when it had already sold out and forgotten about it. From 2007 on Michael Tanner's Dorset Paeans label. A folky, wonky, lo-fi thing

Also saw some tat - a difficult to read Millennium Dome clock, anyone?
November 17, 2025 at 6:21 PM
Some very pleasing looking vintage book club type books in a charity today, unfortunately all turned out to be sport related 💤
November 17, 2025 at 6:18 PM
Reminds me that just before quitting Twitter I posted up a poll as to what genre this would be (answer: a school christian record)
There's a least one spiritual jazz LP with this sleeve though
November 16, 2025 at 8:52 AM
The folky Lamb LP sounds pretty decent from a quick post-clean condition check. Here's the back cover, good sign it's heavier stuff than the usual. Also the "Phil" record is probably heading back (usual suspects of Gaither, Crouch etc in credits should have been a clue), but what a great sleeve

Some above average xian charity shop buys, first three were four for a pound (not pictured, a bunch more crap ones that went straight back 😀)
November 15, 2025 at 10:17 AM
Popped out to post a Discogs order and found a first edition Osbert Lancaster in a charity shop (which was nice).
Saw an exhibition of his stuff a while back, but never had any of his books.(internet is suggesting it might have been at the Wallace Collection way back in 2008, time flies 😲)
November 14, 2025 at 4:37 PM
Some Scottish folk finds - Jean Redpath (not doing Robert Burns for once), "Bothy Ballads" from the Scottish Tradition series, "The Silver Bow" Shetland fiddle, and Angus Chisholm (Canadian fiddler from the 78 era) 🎻

(got a bit of a backlog of stuff to post up in case you couldn't tell)
November 14, 2025 at 1:17 PM
Some recent charity shop buys (but proper money, had to pay more than a pound for these! 😲)
Colin Blunstone "One Year" (after this for ages, usually see it scratched!), Chris Joss "Man With a Suitcase" (fake OST, misread this as "Man IN a Suitcase", oops), Cumbia comp on World Circuit and "Don" OST
November 14, 2025 at 10:39 AM
Some comps picked up recently - the two Greek ones with MVE tokens, and two new Cumbia ones.
"Mortika" is 78 era 2LP box on Mississippi/Canary, "Ena Tefariki" is 1960s, on Radio Martika. Then also on RM are Edmundo Arias and Lucho Bermudez cumbia comps

Was very pleased to find these autobiographies of two less talkative stars of the golden age of Hollywood in charity shops recently. Just finished "Me Cheeta", and it's great 😀

Some Blues comps with nice sleeves found and purchased over the past couple of months (details in Alt)

Final few from the Groovy Fayre, on the 🧀 side.
Was after the first three (decent Mike Sammes LP, Caterina (Valente) and Silvio (her brother), and the Sounds Bob Rogers (think there's a good track in here, not checked yet), and someone recommended the Berry Lipman as having a good track...
November 9, 2025 at 2:48 PM
More Groovy Fayre stuff, details in Alt.
Curried Jazz hopefully in better condition than mine (had three copies at one point years ago when you could find such things in charity shops - gave away/traded two and stupidly managed to end up with a scratched one)
November 9, 2025 at 2:40 PM
Some groovy finds from yesterday's Groovy Fayre
(details in Alt)
Thought it was a good year, very busy though, and saw quite a few things I wanted being purchased literally in front of me
November 9, 2025 at 2:30 PM
There's currently a Numero Group pop-up shop in Dalston (there until Sunday I think). Hadn't bought any new records for a while so popped in yesterday and spent too much money, even with their mailing list discount code 😲

Seefeel were good last night at the ICA, seemingly down to one member now (unless that's just for live shows?). Not heard anything of theirs since "Succour" and didn't know they were making music again, got this ticket last minute because a friend of a friend couldn't go
