And like Sasho says, it's only recently as she seems to be trying to pivot that we're getting album covers like this. You can directly chart, as a seismologist might, the seriousness of Carpenter's attempts to get over with a straight male audience by the magnitude of the pearl-clutching.

"Missing your spot". And then calling the batter a motherfucker. A real mystery, here.

He's still got it, folks.

The fact that this reaction is 95% of my timeline heartens me greatly.

Okay, but what do you intend to do once you find out their names, bluesky? This kind of discourse is very much spiritually related to the "it was just a small death threat" discourse currently running in parallel on here.

Which primary source documents, in your opinion, most directly contradict this passage from Haig's private papers in which he records this statement from Petain?

A link would be deeply appreciated.

Like, looking at this chart (since IIRC most east coast wildfire smoke is from Canadian fires), it's strongly suggestive of 50+ years of overexuberant wildfire suppression.

It's this meme, essentially, with the left playing the green guy. The left cannot be the green guy if it wants to be viable. It *must* offer a viable solution for urban disorder.

Vancouverites are famous for saying things like "our housing supply doubled" when their population tripled during the same period, and "we've run out of room to build" when there's nothing taller than a bungalow outside of their downtown core.

They have emphatically not embraced YIMBY policy.

Yeah, yeah, I've seen this argument before. Muted.

This dipshit is absolutely saying that. I'm not on the anti-science side of this argument, you are.

Sure, Hannah Mouncey is the first that comes to mind.

I have no knowledge whatsoever of Roy Cooper's politics, but he looks old, and he is in fact 68 years old. Americans need to stop normalizing geriatric politicians.

He might be the most amazing candidate in the world in every other way, and the mass reaction still needs to be "nope, too old".

Likewise, "the purple politician has been gifted a 20-point polling head start over their opponent, an avowed socialist with no support from the party. Is it more likely that their subsequent inability to put their opponent away for months indicates skill or incompetence?"
July 25, 2025 at 1:38 PM
If you were asked whether prima facie, knowing nothing else about anybody involved, whether the politician represented by the orange line is likely to win a 50/50 national election, I feel like the only realistic answer is "probably not".

Actually, since you're on a phone, I'll spare you and just show you the 75-year population growth charts for both cities.

We've invented demons and are divided 90/10 between those of us enthralled by them and those of us who are just Walt yelling through the glass.

I want to believe we can get to this point as a society, but early returns are dismal.

We've invented demons and are divided 90/10 between those of us enthralled by them and those of us who are just Walt yelling through the glass.

Isaac Saul is a centrist and has very high journalistic standards. For him to feel this certain the letter is authentic boosts my own confidence and is a very bad sign for Trump.
