Lazy. Likes vinyl records, 70s& 80s scifi, history, art, food, beer (and making up for it in the gym...) etc. etc. Dislikes the News, history is bad enough.
A coincidence, currently reading this version... Great stories.

Today's #SpaceRockSunday (well here anyway). Hawkwind and Doremi Fasol Latido. Their 3rd album, recorded, as so many iconic albums were, at Rockfield Studios and released in November 1972. It's still quite capable of whisking you away...

And also this history of one of the lesser known wartime units of the RAF, 100 Group. This unit tried to counter the radar and communications of the very effective German defence, which was causing horrific casualties to the bomber units.

Today's haul included, for the nerd (🤓 me), some aviation at a good price and for the more sensitive a beautifully illustrated 1st edition (1916) of the Water Babies and a faded but nevertheless lovely 1st edition of The House at Pooh Corner (1928)

Today's #vintage #paperback finds: another Chris Foss-illustrated cover for AE van Vogt's Moonbeast (1975) and Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut. A very early 1972 copy.

*Public Service Announcement*

This deodorant will get the police called to you at Stuttgart Airport. Tbh I thought it was quite a nice deodorant and not worthy of police intervention.

Just home from the gym. Late night/long day, I guess, but if it wasn't for that place I'd be climbing the bloody walls.

Space and time to decompress as well as essential for fitness at my age.

Next up - a record with possibly the oddest* cover that I own... Riot's Narita. No idea on the inspiration other than Narita airport in Japan obviously. Original 1979 release on Capitol, it's great American rock.

So the #turntable is on 😃 today it's Shinedown - Amaryllis, I think my favourite of their albums. From the soaring title track, the angry Bully and the heartwarming I'll Follow You (❤️) it's great stuff! Released in 2012 on Atlantic.

As the world is very much doing this, it's appropriate that my favourite #metal is by the awesome In Flames. So this #VinylSunday starts with Siren Charms, the vinyl nearly as heavy as the music. Originally released in 2014, this is the 10th Anniversary edition on Nuclear Blast.
