Having a pinch of law enforcement experience, I can tell you that a certain percentage of the population lives in some kind of rental and moves frequently. When you see a warrant for an apartment, if you're not a jackbooted idiot, you know not to bust down the door because they might be gone.

Very broadly speaking, I agree with the principal that whatever isn't forbidden is permitted. The reverse would be a living hell. But as Air Bud taught us, the "whatever" isn't meant literally. We assume certain limits, and that assumption can bite us. For example... everything, right now.

Just imagine if service members pledged to do that--to keep their oath--and even gave themselves a catchy name to remind themselves of the oath-keeping they promised to do. Wouldn't that be awesome? All those people keeping their oath by respecting civil rights and obeying posse comitatus?
