Today is the 70th anniversary of Rosa Parks' arrest. Six myths: 1) She wasn't old or tired. 42 years old that day, she had a "life history of being rebellious" & had spent two decades helping to turn the Montgomery NAACP into a more activist branch alongside ED Nixon and Johnnie Carr.

This feels like something special is happening. I did not get to see enough of TH14 and DB10 to appreciate the Invincibles, so this is the best squad I have ever seen. #COYG!
That second half from Arsenal was fucking sensational. As good as you could possibly hope to put in against a team as good as this.

Bossed it 100%. Madueke with his first goal, and then Martinelli, no less than we deserved. And Bayern offered NOTHING after the break.

Hello Europe, we're Arsenal

Jesus said blessed are the poor and woe to you who are rich. White Conservative Christians reversed that Jubilee ethic & seek to maximize the suffering of the most vulnerable by taking what little they have left away.

The post- World War II US investment in R&D is one of the greatest economic and national security engines in history. As I said to @revkin.bsky.social a decade ago, “the budget is policy”. Panel's Latest Warming Warning Misses Global Slumber Party on Energy Research
The latest global warming report from the U.N. climate panel helpfully clarifies risks but largely misses a key factor in driving an energy transformation — research.

The spiritual health of a person and their society is revealed by how they serve the most vulnerable around them (Zech 7:10; Ex 22:22; James 2; Deut 24:19).

Take action. Don't think too hard about it; small acts count. It is also a rebuke of imperial pretensions that say only certain types matter.

Ps 46. I pray this often these days.

God is our refuge and strength
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging. (1)

"You have filled the world with women, slaves, and beggars." -Julian the Apostate (4th Century AD)

The Roman emperor scorned early Christianity’s appeal to the socially marginalized (women, minorities, and the poor).

Our faith should be widely known for its concern for these groups.

In a time of "patriotic" curricula, "official history," "avoiding divisive topics," and "making folk feel uncomfortable," remember this: God has a hard time healing things we don’t want to remember.

In case it helps someone:

The phrase “We don’t do / say that here” is immensely useful in managing people who feel emboldened to try to push boundaries and test behaviour norms in your spaces.
It’s a bland statement of fact, doesn’t contain an accusation, and can be used by anyone including peers.

I mean, nature mocks us every day.
