My hair dresser was completely unfamiliar with the story of Samson and Delilah.

Should I be concerned that my hair care expert isn't familiar with every one of the small handful of 'hair based' mythologies?

This barn in a San Rafael backyard, was built in 1850. There aren't many structures that old to be found in Marin.

I had a surprisingly wonderful time at the DMV. I went in to get a real ID and renew my car registration, so I made an appointment online. I was annoyed that it was about 50 days out. Seriously! And I only had about 20 days before it expired. I thought I'd see how bad it was to walk in, <more>

I saw this little construction robot and thought this must be brand new tech, but not really. Researching it, learned it is tamping the soil down. It's very heavy and vibrates. If you had to have your hands on it to drive it they'd go numb and you'd risk nerve damage. So it works by remote control.

I posted on some Conservative boards "It's Day 1 since Mamdani got elected, and reports say all NYC public schools are already teaching schoolchildren Arabic numerals."

The number of idiots responding to this who don't know what that is, is hysterical. But also a bit depressing.

Yesterday I watched the 1922 version of "Nosferatu". I've watched a handful of films that are even older, but I believe that was the first time I ever watched a film that was over 100 years old.

Rewatched "The Newsroom" s2, and it's amazing to see a show in 2013 where the whole season is about a news network scandalized by putting out a false story. They were tricked at a high level, but concerned they lost viewer's trust, and the bosses, and all the researchers would have to resign. <more>

Hello Kitty luggage. For Free? A spot near my building people leave good stuff they are tossing. Usually plants or kitchen stuff. But someone dropped off a very large Hello Kitty suitcase. Is this extremely valuable and wanted? A lot of girls I know went crazy over anything Hello Kitty. #HelloKitty

Well, this was kind of a first. I offer computer services for free if I can't fix something. So I often get calls from elderly people or low income who aren't really sure if they have a problem. Or maybe a problem that can be fixed.

The stock market isn't going up. It's the dollar that's going down.

People in finance keep stating this, but nobody in the media ever seems willing to quote them.

Five bags of groceries for only $43. I'm doing something right by buying soup, cereal, and soda only when on sale. Food prices have definitely skyrocketed under Trump, but #Safeway still has deals on a lot of my snacks. (The Sociables Crackers were the most expensive individual thing, surprisingly.)

This has happened a few times, and I feel kind of bad when it does. I post ads on craigslist for computer repair, and I got a call from a very elderly man who I tried to help over the phone but said I'd need to go look at his system. <more>

This should not be an option! Good RPG's should encourage players to be better; To do better. Good communication skills have always been important to play RPGs.
Okay, I'm not that serious about this, but I always stand behind the Oxford comma.

This RPG lets you enable (or disable) the Oxford comma, despite there being just 15 of them in the entire game: 'He added the setting when nobody was looking'
An interesting, unique, and confounding UI option.

I'm playing catch-up with the new season of Dexter (Resurrection), and just caught episode 4. Aside from how good it's been so far, I cannot get over the cast they got to star in it.

Krysten Ritter
Uma Thurman
Neil Patrick Harris
Peter Dinklage
David Dastmalchian

After searching for years, I finally found the entire run of this great tv show I remembered as a kid back in 1980 called "Ten Speed and Brownshoe". Which starred a very young Jeff Goldblum.

Second hand of MahJong I ever played, and I got a 4 of a kind with East Wind, which I was the dealer for, plus three flowers. I turned a pung into a kong. No, I really don't know what most of that means, but I have to go off how impressed the woman teaching us to play was. #MarinMahjong

Brent Spiner lost his home in the Los Angeles fires. He was doing a podcast with Katie Sackhoff when he got the evacuation order. And then they finally continued the interview five months later.
Sadly, he didn't take anything with him, and lost everything.

I just saw M. Night Shyamalan's "Trap" from last August, and I loved it! M. Night gets a lot of hate because after his first three phenomenal films, the quality dropped.

Rent Control is the reason for the AI regulation sections in the big Trump bill

The MAGA/Trump "Big, beatiful bill" blocks state/local regulation against AI, including rent-gouging software like RealPage.
