Doom-scrolling break! :) Enjoy this minute-long video of industrious ants from my Workaway in Ecuador's rainforest. 💖

Some snapshots from my new Workaway - a vegan anarchist compound in the Ecuadorian rainforest. 🙃

I'm very excited to announce that my short film "How to Prepare for Time Travelers in the Workplace" has won an honorable mention in the Athens International Monthly Art Film Festival. 🥳 An already good day has gotten even better with this news! :)

Spent the day on Isla de la Plata and saw sooo many blue-footed boobies! 😍 They're hilarious - like cartoon characters that waddled into our world and decided to stay. 💖

I'm in Puerto Lopez - this Ecuadorian town was designed to separate tourists from their moneys. (FWIW, I respect the hustle.) Doesn't mean you can't find great deals, though. 😉 Behold the gigantic coconut water I got for $1.50!

Tomorrow, off to a day-long tour to watch blue-footed boobies. 💖

The Manta excursion. :) No Workaway duties today, so I caught the pickup truck ride to the nearest big city. Interesting place.

Great advice. :)

My view right now. :) First day as a Workaway volunteer in Ecuador. Painted a fence! All the time after 12pm is mine. I'm kind of loving this gig...

I'm on an 8-hour bus ride across Ecuador, woooo! :) (Huzzah for wifi!)

Quito, first impressions: metal bars around every business. Very polluted air. Beautiful people. Friendly diners. (I had a tigrillo. 😀) Super-cheap fruit cups. ($1!) My 2004-ish Spanish was sufficient to buy a bus ticket. 🤓

Behold this cool airport poem! 🤣

And so my Feral Artist Nomad journey ends: two weeks, many new friendos, lots of fun memories... Next stop: Ecuador! 😀

Woot - just had my final film screening of the year! Followed by a really cool Q&A with the audience! (I was the only filmmaker present at that block, so the entire Q&A was mine mwahahaha - no sharing with others! 😈)

In my full Eccentric Foreign Filmmaker regalia, ready to amuse the locals with anecdotes, attend two receptions, and watch 3 blocks of short films, woooo! 🥳

Feral Artist Nomad update: I've met a mayor for the first time in my life! :) (Elusive creatures, those mayors.) This is John Clark, mayor of Ridgway, CO. Great guy *and* a patron of the arts! 😌

I'm trying to bring postcards back from the brink of extinction. 🥲 Not much to do before my film festival kicks off, so I explored downtown, finally found 15 local postcards, then acquired 15 postal stamps (elsewhere 🙃), and hand-signed them all, woot!

We must not let this medium fade away. 🥲

Feral Artist Nomad update. I have reached the final stop on my film festival circuit: Ridgway, Colorado.

Behold the view from the hotel's bar! 😍 (The view from my room is just as picturesque.)

I rather like the way this shot turned out. 😌 (Sunrise at the Orlando airport.)

The best way to break a $20 bill is by walking into a thrift store and buying a book. 🤓 Check out this beauty I found at a Goodwill here in Denver!

Memories of West Reading, PA. Such a remarkably artsy and welcoming town. I miss it already. 💖

I get off the train. Google Maps tells me to find WAR. There is no WAR to be found in downtown Philly at 11pm, but city hall looks impressive.

I follow the directions to the Jefferson station. The sign over the doors welcomes me. The doors are locked. The ones across the street are still open.

Huzzah!! My short film won the second place in the "Best Comedy SciFi Short Film" category at Brooklyn SciFi Film Festival! :) My first-ever film festival win - I'm honoured beyond words, and will ride that high for a very, *very* long time. 💖
