Fuentes is the right wing of exactly what Klein was saying Kirk wasn’t. (Again, I think Klein underplays/misapprehends how Kirk used his debates as “dunk” content)

The whole point of the “doing politics” piece was about Kirk’s willingness to talk directly to people who disagreed with him, following high school essay standards of argumentation. (Instead of polemic, name-calling, etc.)

1. I do not agree with Klein’s “doing politics the right way” story regarding Kirk (I think Klein was overgenerous about the “debate me bro” behaviors, and overemphasized Turning Points therefore underemphasizing Kirk’s own speech acts)

I find it hard to believe that you read or listened to the “doing politics the right way” piece and cannot distinguish between Kirk and Fuentes. But I’ll take you at your word.
