New rule. I'll repost if the poster has the same or less followers than me.
Excited by the possibilities of renewable energy, horrified by apathy about climate change
$cammers & catfishers not welcome & will be ignored if posts suggest thats you
I've seen piggeries with a higher standard of care
And less overcrowding

To be fair, someone had to not win, why should it have been Turkiye?
I think South Australia has got an excellent story to tell about the shift to renewables but we aren't unique in that

Combine the misinformation with batteries with the misinformation about renewables and add the delaying legal tactics of the anti renewable brigade along with the financial rewards for keeping coal burning power running and its a wonder that we are rapidly moving to decarbonisation

I can go & see AC/DC in Adelaide at the end of the month, but, they are old and only 85% of what they were
OR
I can go & see AC/DC in Adelaide at the end of the month and honor the band that has been awesome for 5 decades
OR
I can go & see AC/DC in Adelaide at the end of the month and enjoy them

This is stymieing Australia's progress and allowing the IPA/Advance Australia to use the crippled progress as proof renewable energy can't meet our needs
And just a FYI, reneweconomy.com.au is a far more accurate, reliable and informed source of information on the shift to green energy than Murdoch

I keep banging on about spending the Aukus money developing electric drone boats/submarines
Of course, it would need decent science, but time, money with science buys solutions
Or you can spend the money buying 30 year old science from a rouge nation depending on a president stable genius

The economic sense is so extremely in favour of renewables now, Pakistan is even paying Qatar penalties to rather NOT deliver the fossil gas that Pakistan already placed orders for, because their Solar PV and batteries make much more sense.

It saves them money to cancel their gas imports and pay!
So Pakistan is *paying* Qatar to *not* deliver LNG because even including this penalty payment their solar PV and battery spending is much better value for money and saves them billions.

How fascinating!

We are heading to the same position we were when energy was taken out of the hands of private enterprise and nationalised
In SA in the 1950's the Premier put energy creation in the hands of the state because the private companies made more money by not increasing production

The amount of concern-trolling here is astonishing: they've actively withheld new renewable capacity, and now they're hand-wringing about public backlash and rising bills BECAUSE THEY AREN'T BUILDING ANYTHING TO REPLACE COAL PLANTS

you did this guys!! It's you!

Australia's utilities are specifically choosing *NOT* to build new renewable energy: they see it as way more profitable to be paid to extend the lifespan of coal plants instead

They say this IN THE SURVEY being heralded as 'good news' by climate groups

This seems appropriate a place as any to drop the one-two punch of distressing news article and embedded ad I read this morning.

I reckon Malcolm Turnbull cared about the climate, right up until he had the power to do something, and then he didnt
And now he's lost the power, he does again
When Sussan says she cares, I remember the care factor of Turnbull
