Fair and valid. Though I think that might be an inherent issue with xp purchase a la cart systems.
Something that I've seen discussed a bit about 4e might help solve this particular feel bad problem. Essentially, character advancement currency for combat would be awarded separately -

gritty perspective from the lore that the system takes. I'm not sure how the uesrpg community would take its complete removal, though.

Yeah, this is a controversial one. Wounds might be more appropriate as an optional rule altogether. It's a lot to track, and some tables will simply prefer to not use it, but it's so woven into every aspect of the system. That's the dark heresy roots showing, as well as the more -

does where it makes wisdom the governing attribute of perception. Makes zero sense to me.

Are you referring to the observe skill? I don't see this as the same as Prc as a characteristic. As a gm, I often run the characteristics as passive tests - what dnd uses saving throws for. I do understand the sentiment though- i wonder what it could be renamed to.
I've always disliked what 5e-

Conjuration and necromancy happen to be the two schools with the most potential for fun imo -- it's all about tipping the scale of action economy in the party's favor, sometimes with big scary shit.
Necromancy favors permanent "pets" through rituals, conjuration favors temporary ones

Re: jump --- hehehehehehe yeah it really should

Frenzy is one of those things I wish I could fix completely for v4, but have no clue how to do it while staying with the original intent of the 3e authors. In 4e, I think it warrants a ground-up rethinking of the approach

issues with exploiting the system up to GM and player discussion as the enchantments are being created. I would be quite interested to hear your thoughts on v4 enchanting.
November 28, 2024 at 3:48 PM
If i recall correctly, I believe you're playing v3? The v3 folks reinvented the wheel on enchanting to try and fix issues they saw with v2 enchanting but introduced tons of their own problems in the process. V4 goes back to v2 enchanting and simply tries to patch the easy problems and leaves the -

I have no illusions that the game is perfect in any way. There is something incredibly special about it that is almost impossible to describe, which is why I spend so much of my free time with it. But it needs a ton of work

Fair point. I will say that the armor you get from the conjuration spells can stack with the ar spells. But you're right - if it's one or the other, there is a very clear choice. Perhaps some fun talents for the conjure armor spells would be in order.

I'll start. I'd love there to be less decision points in combat. The current process of attacking and defending is rather decision-heavy.
It also needs better support for Prs builds, which I think can easily be achieved partly by diversifying the governing characteristics of spell-school skills.
