Why did American geneticists not speak out more frequently and forcefully against eugenics in the 1920s and 30s?

1. The legacy of the influential Galton
2. They were absorbed in their own science
3. They viewed eugenicists as a "lunatic fringe of no long-term consequence"

I’m a Black Lawyer who briefed Project 2025. The 900-page doc casts women as baby incubators.
The Christian White Nationalist overhaul White America chose, dissolves ALL govt mechanisms built to ensure equal rights for women, including the 19th Amendment, which granted white women the right to vote.
Pete Hegseth shares a clip saying women shouldn’t have the right to vote, the 19th Amendment should be “repealed,” and women should “submit” to their husbands: “All of Christ for All of Life”

As I reminded a few weeks back, these concentration camps will be continually established around the United States.

Concentration camps will be the norm in the United States. It’s important we call these facilities what they are.

A dozen or more transgender members of the U.S. Air Force who had sought early retirement to avoid being discharged for their gender identity have had those retirements canceled. Each has served between 15 and 18 years.

Are Americans aware that down here in Mexico we’ve been getting bombarded for months with ads of Kristi Noem telling us to our face that we’re out welcome in the US, and that these ads even found their way into our national TV broadcasts

Because I feel like I have seen nobody mention it

Disability is not a vacation.

It’s not like that time you took a week off sick from work.

It’s a 24/7 job. It’s unrelenting pain, fatigue and suffering.

It’s dealing with a medical system that ignores and gaslights you, a society that views you as expendable & people who resent you for existing

I think not enough people realize that people with disabilities weren't even seen as human until rather recently in history. Eugenics hurt our society in many ways.

I am disturbed by how quickly people throw the mentally ill under the bus when talking about people they don't like. Too often I hear talking points that comes straight out of the eugenics movement and y'all need to be careful.

First they overturned Roe.

Then came the trigger laws and abortion bans that force people to carry pregnancies they don’t want or can’t handle.

Then they came for Planned Parenthood.

People are bleeding out in parking lots & being arrested for miscarrying. 🧵

I’m a lawyer who’s worked with unhoused clients; acquiring a govt ID is by far, the most common task/obstacle unhoused clients face, usually at the outset.

So of course, ICE is raiding homeless shelters. They hit the Women’s’ Shelter across the street from our bldg, yesterday. Cruelty is the point.

Be clear about what’s happening: the U.S. govt maintains daily kidnapping quotas. During these initial months of Project 2025’s implementation Black and Brown people have been the focus. The govt is disappearing average people from their kids’ school pickup lines, hospitals, workplaces, graduations.

Literally ANY white person who witnesses another do/say anything racist, has the DUTY to immediately transform into a Karen-level aggressor—addressing said racism.

No need to offer excuses as to how/why you’ve somehow figured out which of your fellow white ppl’s racism to call out. No excuses now.

I am angry and tired. The camps will be full before people begin to act. There should never have been camps to begin with.

If you think this is all new for America, then you have been slacking on your history lessons. PBS can get you started. I recommend the history of eugenics, where it started and how Hitler became inspired. Or perhaps the Tulsa Massacre. That is just the tip of the iceberg. It has always been here.

Dear white people. If you’re going to talk about the Washington team. Censor the R word.

You don’t have a right to use it fully uncensored.

It’s gross if you do.

On a day that the congress has decided to go on an early recess and take 6 weeks of paid leave it is important to remember that in the U.S there is no federal law that guarantees paid maternity leave or family leave.
Just something to think about in case you need more things to think about today.

It often bothers me how every time someone is treated poorly, the outcry is to sue. Just sue! Huh? How? With what money? Sometimes outrage is all that is available. The law isn't the same amount of kind to everyone. Never really has been.

For everyone watching the ICE raids and the despicable treatment of immigrants saying ‘this is not who we are’. Unfortunately this is exactly who about 38% of Americans are.
While we are appalled, they are clapping like drugged seals.
Jim Crow, Civil Rights, AIDS Disaster…this is a cultural issue.

The people who were fired today have vast experience and knowledge of other countries. They have seen fascism and other forms of authoritarianism up close. They are warning us all—for the love of God and country people, wake up!
A State Department employee shared with PBS News an image from inside the department. The image includes a piece of paper taped to a mirror with the words, "Colleagues, if you remain: RESIST FASCISM. Remember the oath you vowed to uphold."
