1/4. On the White House’s theory, if they abduct you, get you on a helicopter, get to international waters, shoot you in the head, and drop your corpse into the ocean, that is legal, because it is the conduct of foreign affairs.

I'm calling for an investigation into whether President Trump manipulated the market to benefit his Wall Street donors—all while working people and small businesses paid the price.

Did Trump help insiders cash in on his tariff flip-flopping? It sure looks like corruption.

From my visit last week to the Topaz Internment Camp, where Fred Korematsu was interned. This quote still sticks with me.
I think I’m going to be thinking about this quote from Gordon Hirabayshi on the walls of the museum for a long time.

If you’re continuously stunned by the behavior of gerrymandered GOP representatives in the world of Citizens United, don’t be.

Here’s how to think of them:

They are no longer public servants.

Improving public outcomes is not their goal. Nor do they do better in life…

Jeffrey Goldberg thinking he was being pranked and then realizing he was actually just in the war plans group chat is such a good microcosm of how it feels to be alive right now, everything seems fake until you realize it’s actually real and incredibly stupid

One of the things that is true about Jeanette is that she spends *all* of her time advocating for other folks in precarious positions. In 2017 she organized support for other immigrants from a church basement, directing them to resources, sharing knowledge, & generally just bearing witness, nonstop.

The Columbia deportation case is bad enough on its own — but the precedent is worse. People can be deported without breaking a law because of a vague reference to foreign policy.

Look, folks, this is it. The entire ballgame. Either we're a Republic of laws & the Constitution, or we have a dictator. This is fascism, & the impeachment vote should be happening today. Every single university president in the country should be out, in front of microphones, condemning this.

3/ If the govt has a real arguemnt, tell it to a judge. Trump wants everyone to feel afraid, foes and friends. Their liberty is at his whim. That's a King not a president. We're Americans. We're not slaves or supplicants. Elected officials serve us. We don't answer to them. We talk back to them.

Arresting and threatening to deport students because of their participation in political protest is the kind of action one ordinarily associates with the world’s most repressive regimes. It’s genuinely shocking that this appears to be what’s going on right here. 1/

This is a great figure. For all the doom & gloom about climate inaction, we have made a big dent over the past 25 years.

What started out as 3.5-4°C increase by 2100 is now down to 2-3°C. Of course, more work is urgently needed but this is progress! We don't let up now. h/t @hausfath.bsky.social
