The underside of red admiral butterflies may not be as attractive in a gaudy sense, but it's just as beautiful.

Take a moment to look at this complex interweave of delicate colours and patterns.

Bryan MacCormack, the executive director of a New York-based immigrant rights group, was pulled over by CBP with two undocumented passengers in the vehicle. He knew his rights, refused to acknowledge their "warrant", and despite CBP threatening him, the agents eventually were forced to let him go.

"Slime mold" is a popular political insult but slime molds are actually the smartest and safest molds, & in some ways smarter and safer than politicians. I definitely would not eat a US senator for example, nor would I expect them to do complex pathfinding calculations for me

LA is burning & our implicit political baseline is still that climate policies are acceptable if and only if they require zero sacrifice or even mild lifestyle change on anyone's part.
Public will not have to change lives ‘radically’ for climate goal, MPs promised
Lifestyle change, such as diet and travel, are not in the scope of the 2035 goal

It's disheartening that in an age where knowledge has never been more accessible - the United States is about to be governed by an administration so primitive and ignorant as to believe that tariffs are good and that vaccines are bad.

5 years ago I visited Antarctica with #teamHB4. The stunning beauty of this place reminded yet again of the fragility of our global ecosystems and special gifts they keep bringing us even in the face of peril. But there was also a deep sense of hope, of which we must not let go.

It takes a truly sick society to force a young person before the most powerful court in the country to justify why her doctor should be allowed to keep prescribing something that makes life worth living and has fewer side effects than half the medications we use for depression.
