You have to pay for the water you use. If the water utility isn't charging what it costs them to operate, that's on them.

It's nicer than Hara, but it's literally a fairground. It has rained (torrential downpour) the past few years so the tailgate area's a mud pit. Much of it has no A/C so it gets hot.
Hamvention is good only because of the size and history. Location is not ideal though.

The (overpriced, but nice) tripod for the MC-750 is a real help if you're in an area without soft soil (or no soil like an urban setting).

It greatly speeds up deployment. I'm almost exclusively a CW op, and with the etching, I know just how far to extend the whip past the mark to get down into the CW band.
